Interview Panel Procedure
- The interview panel should consist of at least four (4) to six (6) people. These persons should be :
- Active Honorary Rotaractors
- Senior Rotaractors
- A member of the present board
- The incoming board is tasked with selecting the interview panel at the beginning of the Rotaract year and will do so .
Interviewing Prospective Members
Phase I – When a Guest becomes a Prospective Member
- Prospective members are interviewed at the soonest time after receiving prospective status.
- During the interview the panel will thoroughly explain what Rotaract is about and what Rotaract stands for. Expectations as a prospective member, and as a Rotaractor, will also be explained to the prospective member.
- The prospective member will be given the opportunity to share how they found out about the club and what they expect to gain from the club once they become a member.
- The panel will give a report to the board as to the details of the first interview. This should include feedback from the panelists regarding the prospective member.
Phase II – When a sponsor submits a membership application
- The prospective member’s attendance (requirement of 60%) and involvement (requirement of 60%) will be monitored up until an application is submitted on their behalf.
- A second interview will be done after the sponsor applies to the board for membership of the prospective member.
- At the second interview the prospective member will be questioned about their time spent in the club thus far. He/she will also be apprised of their observed involvement and attendance, to include advice on improvement, if needs be.
- After the second interview the panel will submit a report to the board as to whether the prospective is ready to become a Rotaractor.
- The final decision still remains with the Board and the Board shall not be obliged to agree, or disagree, with the report of the interview panel.
Membership Applications
Membership applications can be obtained from the Secretary.
There will be four (4) opportunities for induction of new members during the Rotaract Year. That is:
- At Investiture (end of June, early July)
- During the Club’s Anniversary celebrations (September)
- In December/January
- During World Rotaract Week (March)
Applications from sponsors are welcome up to one (1) month prior to the suggested induction dates.
*Please note that the proposed induction dates are flexible, based on applications received.
